Shoot arms then damage torso to red and then shoot legs.
Salvage tonnage will be ok

sometimes you just gotta core the mechs that you want in the 75 to 100 ton range. Headshots are only great if your doing multiple missions sets

I usually shoot off their legs, that will drop the share value enough for you to take them as salvage.

You're headshotting them which is why the share cost is so high....90% of the mech is still intact after all!

thats why you should get a salvage share mod, the game is punishing you for being good.
